TMF is unlike certain other festivals; we don't believe in booking bands based on their album sales – we believe in booking bands on quality alone. We don’t believe in releasing tickets before lineups are announced and we don’t believe in booking the same old headline acts – guaranteed to sell out but guaranteeing the same, tired performance.
The point of TMF is to showcase some of the finest music the UK has to offer – “the bands and DJs truly making noise in the UK”. That means we book rising artists and underground acts, and we put them on the same pedestal as the larger, established bands that headline the event.
This year’s event features The Others headlining the Fat Surfer stage. Winners of the John Peel Award For Innovation and partial to guerilla gigs across the UK, the band represent a new wave of artists who go the extra mile to be heard - perhaps that’s why the NME dubbed them the “most worshipped new band in Britain”.
Exploding onto the Frantic stage will be Raging Speedhorn, one of the hardest-working metal bands in the UK. Fresh from their UK tour, the band are set to invade the lineup with a new vocalist and performance that will leave you begging for more.
Joining them will be some of the hottest new bands the UK has to offer, including The Duke Spirit, Art Brut, Electric Eel Shock, Sikth Johnny Truant, New Rhodes, Engerica and many, many more.
