We're now back from our South Pacific break after our relaunch a few weeks ago and gearing up for our next party on SATURDAY APRIL 28TH.
For our second date at ace warehouse space Herbal we’ve pulled off a bit of a coup. Flying in from Italy for an exclusive four-hour set will be CLAUDIO COCCOLUTO.
Something of a hero of ours, Coccoluto’s not only one of the world’s most renowned DJs but also one of the most talented and respected names on the international underground: along with Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills and Richie Hawtin he’s the only other DJ to reside at The End’s All Night Long sessions. He’s been a long-time supporter of the same new wave of electronic dance music we’ve always championed and his sets are as breathtaking as they are technically mind-blowing. He shows up today’s tin-pot 'electro' wannabes and flash-in-the-pan flavours of the month for what they are, basically. It’s been well over a year since he last appeared in the capital and a DECADE, unbelievably enough, since he’s played a club of this size. We can’t wait to hear him take control of the venue’s kick-arse custom-built WattCo soundsystem.
Joining him will be our old mate and ‘Italian Nodisko resident’ GUGLIELMO MASCIO. The Nu Funk Klan main man is one of the country’s most up-and-coming new faces, he’s one of our favourite DJs (he always joins us for our appearances in Room 3 of Fabric) and over the last couple of years has become a protégé of Coccoluto’s.
And lastly a duo we’re tipping for big things, MOCK & TOOF. They initially made some noise with their mix of The Juan Maclean’s ‘Love Is In The Air’ but it’s their rework of Hot Chip’s ‘Over And Over’ (a Nodisko fave) and a sly Madonna/Black Eyed Peas white label that twisted the most melons. Mock also runs the wonderfully quirky label Tiny Sticks, releasing tracks and mixes from The Emperor Machine, Dondolo, Tigerskin, Shit Robot, Fabrizio Mammarella and, very soon, Mock & Toof’s own debut proper. An EP for new DFA offshoot Death From Abroad is also on the way – just watch them go the distance this year.
Mark our words – it’s gonna be one fuckin’ unmissable night. Get involved.
