push lazy sunday
by ammo city on sep 18, 2003, 19:12
ammo's own nii parkes is headlining at push at the light bar this sunday. tagging along will be nii's nyc friends, jive poetic and mahagony browne.
a proper talent and not just 'cos we like him, nii has built up a fan base across africa, europe and america. he's done several tours of the states - twice this year alone - and released a cd, 'immaculate blues' and a book, 'eyes of a boy, lips of
a man'.
nii performs in english, french and his native ga but he can't juggle. come and bear witness nonetheless. there will be more spoken word with tuggstar and hip hop from symbolic, pounds & pence and push regular digital high fidelity.
if you haven't already heard, push, is there not just to get lazy on sundays but to showcase unsigned and under heard talent. all in the chilled out atmosphere of the light bar.
push djs will be adding the usual choicest grooves of broken
beat, nu jazz, soul and hip hop. and the rub: mention ammo on the door and get in for £1. push and ammo city, cheaper than your sunday paper.
push gets lazy, every first and third sunday of the month
